My ancestors on RootsWeb’s WorldConnect; Ancestry WorldTree

Laura’s RootsWeb WorldConnect

This is where I have published much my genealogical research.

From manataka.org:

There is an old saying “Whenever you search of your ancestors, you honor them. Whenever you honor your ancestors, they in turn will honor your children’s children’s children.”

This is true no matter what nationality you are. By “children,” I include fosterage, meaning not necessarily a blood relation.

Specific ancestors that I am researching

My particular CARLOS family were born in/around Strokestown Catholic Parish, County Roscommon, Ireland, and was hit hard by the ravages of the potato famines of 1845-1849. I believe this family was traumatized by these events, and that they never recovered from the wounds they sustained at the hands of the British government during this time. I know for a fact that my ancestors passed down shitloads of PAIN generation after generation — finally to me.

They departed from Ireland on May 26, 1863, during the American Civil War, on the ship called “Ellen Austin,” from Liverpool to New York City. I am surprised that they held on for that long in Ireland.

Summary of Michael & Sarah CARLOS’ kids

John, Jane, Catherine & Ellen never married and livd past the age of 60, and had no kids. Papa James, and children Patrick, Margaret & Bernard show up on the 1870 Census but not the 1880 Census.

Clarence James CARLOS was my grandfather.

I would like to connect with May CARLOS McNALLY’s son Robert Jr.’s family, if he married and had kids. Robert Jr. and my father were close during the 1930s. Robert Jr. vanished (I think) in the early to mid 1950s, and if still alive, possibly moved to eastern Massachusetts, such as the Worcester area.

If you know of any of these people or any of their stories, let me know.
