The Sanctuary seeks to support groups working to educate and enlighten the public on the topic of cultural diversity and unity. It is extremely important at this time that we become very aware of the gifts of all the diverse and amazing cultural groups that bless this planet with their presence. Healing racism, classism and all the other “isms” that plague our society can only happen when we are willing to be open, listen and learn from one another. And in that openness, we may find ourselves moving from judgment to tolerance, and then from tolerance to understanding, and finally from understanding to embracing all the beautiful ways that we are different and unique, as well as the many wonderful and exciting ways in which we are all the same, and One Family. For it is true that we are all One, and in our current global community, it is more important than ever to understand this and to transcend our differences. Wars and conflicts can only occur over our divisions, our greed, our control issues, our ethnocentrism, anger and fears. To move to the highest level of awareness of which we are possible, we must face our fears and seek out experiences with the unknown until it becomes knowable. And once knowable, we understand we need never be afraid. Our so-called leaders have disappointed us; they are not setting the example of win/win conflict resolution or acting in the best interests and highest good of all. They are currently working under an attitude of revenge, control and — make no mistake about it — resource greed. It is up to us to show them the way, and heal the hurt relationships in the world ourselves.
